Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Forest and Environmental Policy Group at Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg (Germany). I am a forester by training and have studied and/or worked in Finland, Sweden, Brazil, Germany and Romania.
My work experience and research interests are in the area of forest policy and economics, spanning from legality verification, international timber trade, forest certification and international forest management. I am also interested in exploring new and innovative ways of science communication targeted at both the research community and broader public.
In my research, I draw on a range of perspectives from discourse analysis, to sociology and technology studies. Empirically, I build on mixed methods, including qualitative methods as well as on social network analysis.
In 2016 I started work on a project exploring the likeliness of transitioning to a forest-based Bioeconomy. More specifically, I look at emerging timber value chains, actor networks, beliefs and coalitions in Germany and Northern Europe (Sweden and Finland). You can learn more about the project here or here
